I hope you all had the best Christmas surrounded by your loved ones. Before the year comes to an end, I wanted to share this post that I know will bring me back smiles years from now. I’ve always loved reading these type of posts from my favorite bloggers. So I wanted to write my own this year. It’s just so fun to look back and see all the great memories we’ve made. If my 2019 had to be described in just one word it would be: GROWTH. In all aspects of life I feel like I went through some sort of emotional and/or mental growth. So come along as I take you through all memorable moments of my year.
January
Started the year by making our big move from Indiana to Washington state. It was such an exciting and long awaited move. I still can’t believe we have only lived here for a year. This was by far the best decision we made this year. We are so happy and feel so blessed to live in such a beautiful state.
February
I took my favorite trip of the whole year during February. My mom and I booked the most spontaneous flight to our favorite spot; Hawaii! We go every year, but usually take the time to plan it. This year though we had a few days off and we booked it 3 days before we were on our way. I’ve never taken a trip with just my mom, so I think thats why it was so special. I love this lady, she means the world to me. So spending time with her in our favorite island was definitely the highlight of my year!
March
March was really fun, my best friend came to visit me for the first time. I’m so glad I got to show her all around Washington. We visited all the touristy spots and even took her on one of my favorite hikes. I’m still trying to convince her to move, haha! She loved it though (she visited for a second time in July).
April
April was the beginning of my Instagram page. Below is the very first picture I posted when I decided to start doing some fashion IG posts. I still can’t believe how far I’ve come since then. Taking the first step was definitely challenging for me. Putting yourself out there is so hard and scary to do. But looking back at it now, I’m so glad I did it (seriously could cry about how happy and blessed I feel to even be typing this).
Ended the month of April by traveling to my sister’s wedding (not related by blood but by heart). Such a magical day, nothing compares to seeing someone you love radiate so much happiness. I’m really glad I was able to be by her side on her special day.
May
May 26th was our one year wedding anniversary. We celebrated by traveling back to Puerto Rico which is where we honeymooned! Such an amazing trip, it was so nice being back exactly a year later. That island will forever have a special place in our hearts. We can’t wait to go back!
June
This might seem silly because we all know that numbers don’t matter when you’re doing something you love. But to someone who was so scared to put herself out there and do something completely out of her comfort zone; this was a big deal. I hit 1K on Instagram and I was so excited and incredibly happy. I also did my very first giveaway (by myself & had no idea what I was doing lol).
We also visited Portland, although we’ve been there before this time was quite special. We made into a work trip and shot so much content for my instagram page. We also stopped by one of our favorite spots (Multnomah Falls).
July
During July we took full advantage of the good weather here in WA. We did a lot of the hikes we had on our list and it was so much fun. We also visited all the rooftop bars in the state (not an exaggeration haha). I love a good view and a good cocktail. That’s how we discovered our favorite restaurant too. So I like to think we know our way around the city now.
August
We had two major trips during August; Hawaii & Tennessee! Visited Hawaii for a second time at the beginning of the month. But this time it was with my whole family. I could seriously visit every month and never get tired. It is literal paradise! We then ended the month by going to our annual cabin trip with our friends. Its always such a good time, specially because the cell service sucks. So we get to disconnect for a whole weekend!
September
We started the month of September in Florida. We took a trip with my in-laws and had the best week laying by the beach. Towards the end of the month we took a trip to Arizona, specifically to visit the Horseshoe Bend & the Grand Canyon . I’m so happy I finally got to visit and cross them off my bucket list. Pictures do no justice to these magnificent places. If you ever have the chance to visit, GO! We also stopped by Vegas for a few hours and walked the strip.
October
We always take a trip in October for my birthday, and this year I wanted to spend it at Disney. So we flew to Los Angeles and spent a few days there. We visited the theme parks, Santa Monica, and some of LA’s most touristy spots.
November
November is very special to me, since it’s our (dating) anniversary month. We’ve officially been dating for 9 years! I still can’t believe it’s been that long. But this guy right here is my best friend, and I wouldn’t want to do life with anyone else.
Also November was the month we launched this blog (ananava.com)! We worked so hard to create this page. We spent countless hours trying to figure out coding, colors, graphics, etc. I’m so happy with how it turned out. This page would not be possible without my very patient hubby.
December
December has been amazing so far. We visited family & friends at the beginning of the month. We then had the most wonderful Christmas back home! And now we are on our last trip of the year. We took a road trip from WA down to Yosemite for some snow and incredible views. Our second stop is Vegas, and we will conclude the year at the happiest place on Earth (Disneyland). Thank you for sticking to the end of this post and reading my most memorable moments of this year. Can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store for this blog!
